Do we tender to Brisbane City Council through QTenders?
No. Brisbane City Council runs its own supplier portal on SAP Ariba, separate from QTenders and VendorPanel. You register there, and you lodge there. State agency and TMR work sits on different systems again — the QTenders guide covers those.
What happens below the $500,000 line?
Council seeks quotes from local suppliers first rather than running a public tender. That makes the quote-stage documents — a current capability statement, clean prequalification, evidence you have done the work before — the deciding factor. It is the least contested work in Brisbane and the most often left on the table.
Do we need to be on a prequalified register?
For a lot of Council work, yes — the registers are organised by project size, type and location, and being absent from the right one keeps you out of the invitation list entirely. The prequalification service compiles and writes the applications.
